The comments typically degrade into ugh, but not as bad as actual liberal sites. Gotta say I get a bit miffed with all the hating against trailers and non-city folk.

Fools and "Frauds" Survive, Idealists Leech or Die

"Only a fool or a fraud talks tough or romantically about war."

John McCain's opening line is his rejection of Homer, Virgil, and most of history's stories and tales of war. It is an embrace of leftism in the West that is designed to weaken the West in the face of its enemies. Historically talk of war has always been about glory, toughness and romanticism so as to motivate one's people for survival. Those people who find war too abhorent, or without honor and glory are people who will be forced to choose servitude, destruction or find a protector willing to do violence on their part. Mind you, just because all of history demonstrates this doesn't mean that it will always be true, but wishful thinking will not change this.

I hope they did an exemplary job of fleshing out the female character. I have gotten sick of female characters in video games and movies for the sole reason of have a female character. This is even more true today when people like Joss Whedon have shown us female characters that aren't just rescue plot points or male characters with vaginas.

The developer diary showed that they felt they needed a female character for the sake of having a female rescue character and then added on powers, plot points, etc. Hopefully she'll be more Kaylee and less Vicky Vale.

Power Line: Who's to Blame for High Gas Prices?

Well yeah. It's an open secret. Though if Obama becomes president they may try to pull a fast one and open it all up with conditions that keep them all closed so they can claim to have solved our gasoline prices.

The local high school just had graduation last night. Gotta wonder if a new year of graduates looking for work affected these stats. Makes me wonder, not enough to research it myself, whether this has been a yearly thing.

Bowling With Our Own by John Leo

Bowling With Our Own by John Leo: "Putnam is hopeful that eventually America will forge a new solidarity based on a “new, broader sense of we.” The problem is how to do that in an era of multiculturalism and disdain for assimilation."

Huh? That's funny, as I recall we already had a broader sense of we. Rather, it would be a broader sense of us, or U.S.

Pity we don't push that sense of identity.
